CLAYTON, Mo. (KSDK) - A solemn ceremony paid tribute to fallen first responders Friday.

The ceremony took place at the St. Louis County Government Memorial Park in Clayton.

It included the posting of the colors and a 16 volley shotgun salute. The names of all fallen emergency responders were read, and Judge Mary R. Russell of the Missouri Supreme Court gave the keynote speech.

The Vinita Park police chief also spoke about the most recent fallen officer in St. Louis County. Sgt. William "Mick" Mudd died of a heart attack shortly after carrying a resident down an icy road to an ambulance.
