SAUGET, Ill. (KSDK) -A world record is being attempted in Sauget, Illinois as 52 people are trying to play a baseball game for 62 consecutive hours.

The game is to raise money for the Joplin Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The donations will help those recovering from the EF5 tornado that hit two years ago this month. Players are hoping to raise $100,000.

The game started at 5 a.m. Friday and will end Sunday evening. One of the organizers of the event, Jeff Lange, said the current record is around 50 hours.
