Weldon Spring, MO (KSDK Sports)- A couple of weeks ago, the Cardinals selected Francis Howell's Calvin Munson in the 31st round. While being picked by your hometown team is a dream come true, it also left the All State pitcher with a decision. Munson, also an Al State football player, had signed a letter of intent to play linebacker at San Diego State back in February.

Today Munson announced on his twitter account that he was turning down the Cardinals' offer and would play football for the Aztecs saying, "after thinking and praying I have made my decision, looks like I won't be ending my football career on a loss. Passion over money. #Football."

Munson led the area in tackles as a linebacker on the Francis Howell football team that finished as the runner up; making their first ever appearance in the state title game.

He was a perfect 9-0 with a 0.64 ERA for the baseball team this past season and helped his team to a state championship.
