(CNN) - British Airways is relaxing some of its rules on cell phone use.

The airline says starting July 1 passengers will be able to use their phones and other electronic devices as soon as their plane is off the runway after landing. That means no more having to wait until the aircraft arrives at the terminal before making a call.

The policy will apply to BA flights around the world, not just the United Kingdom and Europe.
