ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - High-tech crime fighting is getting a major boost in the Central West End.
The area is adding more than 70 new security cameras, up from the 16 it's using right now. The cameras are just one of the many tools used by the Central West End Neighborhood Security Initiative.
Since being formed in 2008, the NSI says it's seen a 40 percent drop in crime. Now, the group has a new office to help beef up security efforts.
Washington University Medical Center is paying for most of the cameras.
