ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged two men Thursday who allegedly shot into a Jennings residence and then barricaded themselves in a Country Club Hills home.

According to Officer Randy Vaughn, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded to calls of shots being fired into a home in the 5200 block of Hamilton at approximately 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.

An investigation by county police detectives led authorities to a residence in the 7500 block of Calvin Avenue in Country Club Hills.

Detectives got into a physical fight with one of the suspects, 20-year-old Darrion Dardon, after he opened the door and pulled a handgun on police at close range, Vaughn said. One detective struggled with Dardon for the weapon, but pushed himself away and escaped the house before Dardon could open fire.

Dardon and a second man, identified as 24-year-old Michael Eiland, barricaded themselves inside but later surrendered after the St. Louis County Police Department Tactical Operations Unit arrived at the scene, Vaughn said. Two handguns were recovered from the residence.

Michael Eiland was charged with three counts of first-degree assault and remains jailed on a $200,000 bond. Darrion Dardon was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer and remains jailed on a $500,000 bond.
