The Syfy channel offered up one its best cheesiest movies ever Thursday night with Sharknado, starring 90210 alum Ian Ziering and American Pie fave Tara Reid.
Of course it was immediately trending on Twitter, with jokes and comments flying as fast as the sharks in the TV movie.
NBC political guru Chuck Todd wrote: "I follow about a thousand folks. Every one of them tweeting about SharkNado."
Some of the celeb tweets:
Lost showrunner Damon Lindelhof: "This movie is such a ripoff of THE BICYCLE THIEF. #LiveTweetingSharknado #Highbrow."
Josh Gad: "The Producers of Planet Earth are watching #SharkNado tonight asking themselves, "why do we even try?" And, "If (Steven) Spielberg could go back in time and stop Jaws from happening to prevent 2013's #SharkNado, I believe he would."
Michael Chiklis: "Clearly SyFy is employing the old, "so bad, it's good," method with tremendous effect. #TrendingForHours #SharkNado"
B.J. Novak: "I'm afraid that now when we have a real sharknado everyone's going to treat it like a joke"
Patton Oswalt: "Just got a call from the 2nd A.D. on the movie I'm filming. Call time canceled tomorrow. ALL movies canceled. It's done. #SharkNado"
Mia Farrow: "omg omg OMG #sharknado"
Olivia Wilde: "I just recorded it based on this review: "@MiaFarrow: Omg omg OMG #sharknado"
Elizabeth Banks: "Well, there goes my Emmy. RT @Syfy: . @oliviawilde @MiaFarrow We have roles for you both in the #Sharknado sequel @DamonLindelof is writing"
