The countdown is on for one of the largest community bike rides around. A group of cyclists representing Edward Jones is already preparing for the 4th annual Pedal the Cause. The riders jump on their bikes to help fight cancer.

Cyclist and Edward Jones Pedal the Cause team member Penny Pennington says she's a cancer thriver.

"Survivor seems like a low bar. I really want to thrive after the experience that I had with my illness and with all the great cancer research that's been done it helps so many more of us thrive after the experience that we've had," said Pennington.

It was a challenge that first intrigued team member Everett Johnson to ride.

"Initially I was dared to get on a bike and participate, but once I got involved and learned about the organization I realized this is a disease that impacts just about everybody," explained Johnson.

"The year that the ride started my dad got diagnosed with prostate cancer that summer so I joined up to support him and I ride every year for him and everyone else," said Angie Parker.

Edward Jones will have close to 300 riders this year. For information about getting your organization involved head to The event is October 5 and 6.
