Cahokia (KSDK)-A boy struck by a hit-and-run driver near Cahokia has died from his injuries.

Fabian Teson, 9, passed away Saturday night at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.

Deputies say Teson was riding a bike around 12:30 p.m. Friday on Lorraine Drive near the intersection of Judith when a car came around the corner, hit him and kept going.

Deputies are still looking for the driver. They don't have much to go on, only that the car was a late '90s Pontiac or Chevy Malibu.

The Cahokia Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a "Chicken and Beer Dance Benefit" for Teson's family. It will be held at KC Hall in Cahokia on Saturday, August 3rd from 7 p.m. to midnight.
