CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KSDK) - A 3-year-old boy is recovering after nearly drowning at a pool in Chesterfield.

Two teenage lifeguards at the Chesterfield Municipal Pool helped save the boy's life Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters say two girls saw the boy at the bottom of the pool and yelled for the lifeguards.

The teens then pulled the boy from the water and performed CPR.

"I was just going to say how proud we are of the staff and how grateful we are that the child is doing well," said Chrissy Withrow, Midwest Pool Management.

The boy was taken to Mercy Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
