ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - An old factory could soon become a new shopping destination in Midtown St. Louis.
Pace Propertieswants tobuild a retail center, called Midtown Station,on Forest Park Ave. between Vandeventer and Spring.
Pace says the site is ideal because of its proximity to St. Louis University andWashington University, as well as major employers like Ameren Missouri, BJC and Wells Fargo.
A flyer for the proposal lists 5 retail shops, ranging between 11,000 square feet up to 80,000 square feet. The site would also include more than 800 parking spaces.
Pace has not hinted at possible tenants, but the site has been the subject of previous reports as a potential location for swedish furniture maker IKEA.
