ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Umpires from Major League Baseball delivered Build-A-Bear stuffed animals to sick kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital Tuesday morning.

The umpire crew working the Cardinals-Dodgers game on Tuesday, August 6, took time out their day prior to the game to spend time with children coping with cancer of other serious illness or injury.

The event was made possible by UMPS CARE Charities, a non-profit founded by MLB Umpires with the goal of enriching the lives of at-risk youths and children coping with serious illnesses. MLB Umpires has hosted 80 children's hospital events since 2006.
