ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Early bus times will make for long days for Riverview Gardens students transferring to Mehlville.
Studies show getting as little as a half hour more sleep can help children be more successful in school.
Not getting enough sleep can lead to poor social skills and even imitate the symptoms of ADHD.
"It makes you more impulsive, it makes you less able to react to your environment properly. So those kids struggle with school they struggle with interpersonal relationships much like many of the diagnoses of ADHD," said Dr. Kelly Ross.
Dr. Ross suggest parents set a bedtime routine and stick to it even on weekends so kids' bodies stay adjusted to the early morning routine.
