(KSDK Sports) -- The Cardinals got a huge piece of their offense back today, as All-Star catcher, Yadier Molina is back in the line up, batting 5th today against A.J. Burnett and the first place Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Cardinals activated Molina along with outfielder Shane Robinson just around 10:30 this morning. Molina had been recovering from a right knee sprain. Robinson was battling a right shoulder strain.

The Cardinals placed catcher Tony Cruz on the 15-day disabled list with a stress fracture in his left forearm and optioned infielder Jermaine Curtis to Triple-A Memphis in corresponding moves.

Molina enters play ranked second in the National League with a .330 batting average, including a .383 mark with runners in scoring position. Robinson was hitting .263 over 65 games at the time of his injury.
