ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Two men have been charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action after accidentally shooting a 12-year-old in north St. Louis.
Antonio Witherspoon, 20, and Larry Thomas, 19, were arrested Tuesday afternoon at an apartment in the 1000 block of Suntree Drive in St. Louis County. Police say the two men started shooting at each other near Loretta Hall Park on Sunday, accidentally hitting a 12-year-old girl who was playing with a large group.
After the shoot-out, police say Witherspoon and Thomas ran off in opposite directions.
Though they were shown in surveillance photo with long dreadlocks, police say they cut them off shortly before being taken into custody.
Witherspoon is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond. A judge set Thomas' bond at $80,000 cash-only.
