ELLISVILLE, Mo. (KSDK) -Ellisville's City Council blocked a move by a developer to get an extension of a condition use permit to build a Wal-Mart.

The motion needed a majority vote to go forward.

The developer's permit expires on Sept. 5. If they get a building permit before this expiration date, City Council could revisit the issue at some point in the future.

Council members impeached Mayor Adam Paul in April, saying they were upset about his stringent opposition to the Wal-Mart development. He was reinstated in July.
