Ron Jaworski talks about football a lot - whether on television, radio, to random people on the street or just at himself while locked inside his film room studying tape. While Jaws isn't shy about expressing his opinion, he doesn't seem to be one to take advantage of the most extreme forms of hyperbole. Sure, he often proclaims players to be the "best so-and-so in the NFL," but someone has to be, right?
That's why Jaworski's recent quote about Colin Kaepernick stands out.
"I truly believe Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. I love his skill set. I think the sky's the limit."
Man,someone loves cardigans up in Bristol.
Despite all the tattoos that 'clearly' signify poor leadership skills, Kaepernick gave a perfect response when told about Jaworski's praise.
"To me, it's a great honor that he said that, very flattered by it. But at the same time, I haven't played a full season yet."
Kaepernick's right. He's only started 10 NFL games, going 7-3. But in those 10 games, Kaepernick showed flashes of brilliance, which means Jaworski's prediction may be a long, long, long way from coming true, but it doesn't mean he's wrong. Some more context would be nice, however. Where does Jaws rank Kaepernick compared to his young quarterbacking brethren, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson? There's only so much room on that list of greatest ever, after all.
