ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Police Board has yet to comment on a case of reverse discrimination.

The court sided with Sgt. David Bonenberger Thursday in a lawsuit against the City of St. Louis.

Boneberger says he didn't get an interview for a position at the Police Academy because of his gender and race. In fact, he claims he was told not to even apply because the position was going to be given to a black woman.

"I can't believe this. I can't believe that somebody is actually doing this. I mean you hear about it, and you think, 'Oh that's really unbelievable that somebody would do that,' but then when it happens to you, it kind of stops you in your tracks," said Sgt. David Bonenberger.

The court awarded Bonenberger $620,000.
