ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - We have some good economic news to report. Some gas prices in the area have dropped below $3 per gallon.

NewsChannel 5 found regular unleaded selling for $2.99/gallon at the QuikTrip on South Lindbergh in south St. Louis County Tuesday afternoon.

According to AAA, gas prices have fallen 29 days in a row. Gas prices fell 19 cents in September alone.

If the downward trend continues, analysts predict the price of gas could drop an additional 30 cents by Christmas.
