RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KSDK) - In one week a new development in Richmond Heights may finally get the go-ahead.

Developers have been trying for years to revitalize a 17-acre section of Hadley Township. Just last month the city council approved financing for Menards and several other stores.

After allowing time Monday night for public comment, a final vote will take place next week.

"We're aware of its long history and we're looking forward to developing the site and bringing that history to a new future," said Ben Wyland.

Dozens of properties were bought out to make way for Mendards.

NewsChannel 5 is told 100 percent of the homeowners have voluntarily agreed to buyout contracts.
