ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force is offering a $1,000 reward for the identity of the owner of a dog who was so severely injured his rear paw had been chewed off.
Someone abandoned the 2-year-old Dalmatian-mix, who was named Pepper by Humane Society staff, early Saturday morning at the Humane Society's headquarters on Macklind Avenue.
According to staff, Pepper had severely injured both legs up to the knee and gangrene up to her ankles. She chewed off her right rear paw and skin and tissue had been licked off and showing bone of the left rear paw.
Veterinarians euthanized Pepper due to the extent of her injuries.
