The father of the twins says they were at the hotel Saturday for a cousin's pool party. He wouldn't talk about what happened or what led to the drowning incident.

"It kind of hurts, and I know his older brother feels bad too," said Ghquira Redden, who says she was friends with the twins.

"Every time I came outside they were outside playing with each other so they seemed like pretty cool little kids," said Ghquira's mom, Nicole Walker.

They tell us they have lived near the twin brothers for the past few years.

"We used to play around a lot, and I mean a lot a lot," said Redden.

Twelve-year-old Ghquira says the twins were always behind their house in the alleyway playing football in the 3100 block of Arsenal. She quickly became good friends with Derrone.

"Very good kids, they played a lot, but the other twin the little twin, he really didn't come outside at all," she said.

Qhquira says it's her brother that will be hurt the most, he was close to the twins and their older brother.

"He was close to all of them, and if he finds this out he probably just go nuts and cry," she said.

We have learned that the twins attended St. Louis Public Schools.

St. Louis police will not release details on the drowning, only that they are investigating and it's too early to know if charges will be filed.

The Child Abuse Unit is handling the investigation, which is standard when a child dies.
