ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Symphony is in mourning after the death of one of its musicians.
Drew Thompson, 27, died suddenly Tuesday while he was with friends.
Thompson played the bassoon and the contrabassoon. He grew up in Webster Groves and came back home to St. Louis last year.
"He was a homegrown, world-class talent. He was a remarkable young man full of life energy interests his dream was to play in the St. Louis Symphony," said Fred Bronstein, president and CEO of the St. Louis Symphony.
Bronstein says the symphony is planning a special tribute to Thompson at an upcoming performance.
