BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - Belleville police say they're looking for a man they say acted suspicious near children. The man is accused of snapping photos of the kids while they were playing outside.
The incident happened in the 200 block of Brookmont Drive. Neighbors are on the lookout, keeping their eyes and ears open for anything suspicious because they say this has happened more than once.
10-year-old Christopher Fries and his 8-year-old sister Isabelle say they were playing in their front yard on Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m. when a man driving a silver car pulled up to their home, looked at them, and started taking pictures.
"My feelings were. He's creeping me out," said Christopher.
"I didn't know what he was doing," said Isabelle.
They say the man left without saying anything to them. They immediately alerted their grandmother who was inside.
"I was worried and shocked that someone would do this in the neighborhood," said Vicki Weis, Christopher and Isabelle's grandmother.
Neighbors say they spotted the man who fits the same description in the neighborhood about 45 minutes earlier. They say he was snapping photos of children as they were getting off the school bus. They did not report this incident to police.
"I was scared so I ran home," said Drew Wisdom, who witnessed the first incident.
