AUXVASSE, Mo. (KSDK) - Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say a rollover crash near Auxvasse in Callaway County was caused by a deer in the road, and a motorist trying to avoid the animal.
Investigators say around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, an eastbound car driven by Darrell Norris, 44 of Louisiana, Mo. swerved on County Road 183 while trying to get around the animal just east of another county highway.
Norris drove off the pavement and his car then overturned into a ditch. He was wearing a safety belt, however suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital in Mexico, Mo.
