BRIDGETON, Mo. (KSDK) - The Environmental Protection Agency says there's no time frame for when it will perform radiation tests at the West Lake Landfill in Bridgeton.
The tests were supposed to start last week, but were delayed by the government shutdown. The EPA has to finish the tests before a trench can be dug to keep a fire burning in the Bridgeton landfill from spreading to radioactive waste buried at West Lake.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources did some ground water testing last week. The results should be available in four to six weeks.
