O'FALLON, Mo. (KSDK) - The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged a former youth minister Friday for possession of child pornography.
According to court documents, investigators with the St. Charles County Cyber Crime Task Force tracked the download of pornographic images to a computer with an IP address in the county. After obtaining a search warrant, the task force went to the residence tied to that IP address and brought the homeowner, 52-year-old Raymond Schneider, in for questioning.
Police said Schneider admitted to using the computer and downloading the images in question: three pictures of a young girl (approximately 10 years of age) in a provocative pose and wearing sheer underwear.
During the interview, police asked Schneider about several pair of girls' underwear located in his room. Schneider told investigators he bought some at stores and stole some pairs from laundromats where would wash his own clothes. He said he use the underwear to pleasure himself while viewing child pornography.
Authorities also discovered an estimated 150 images and videos of child pornography on computers and a thumb drive seized from Schneider's home.
Raymond Schneider was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. Police said Schneider served as ayouth minister five years ago at Church of the Rock in St. Peters. An assistant pastor at the church told NewsChannel 5 Schneider was never on staff or a volunteer at the church.
