TROY, Mo. (KSDK) - The Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged three Kentucky residents Monday for allegedly attempting to obtain a controlled substance with a fake prescription.
According to the Troy Police Department, the Troy Medicine Shoppe contacted officers on October 17 about potentially fraudulent prescription for oxycodone. The prescription, supposedly written by a doctor in Hialeah, Florida, was turned in by a resident of Jackson, Kentucky.
Police apprehended three suspects as they attempted to retrieve the prescription.
Investigators later learned the suspects had obtained a prescription from pharmacies in West Virginia and O'Fallon, Missouri.
The three suspects, 53-year-old Paul Cole, 52-year-old Carlie Cole and 36-year-old Jamie Cole, were each charged with fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance. They remain in custody at Lincoln County Jail on $20,000 cash-only bond.
