KSDK - Bald but wish you weren't? There might be hope.

Researchers at Columbia University Medical Center say that transplanting hair follicles upside may provide hope for those of you with receding hairlines.

The scientists transplanted hair follicles and the dermal papilla cells upside down to ensure that cells could communicate and interact with one another to send the right signal to prompt hair growth.

If the technology proves effective, scientists say the technique can treat everything from male pattern baldness to female hair loss to helping burn patients who have lost the upper layers of skin that contain hair follicles.

Don't rush to schedule a surgery just yet though: scientists have only tested the new technology in mice.
