BOSTON (KSDK) - We are counting down to the showdown between the Cardinals and the Red Sox.

NewsChannel 5's Anne Allred spent a second day at Fenway Park getting inside the mind of those Bostonians.

She wanted to take on the Cardinals from the other side, so she caught up with the sports director for NBC Boston and asked him about the matchup. He said there's one big reason the Sox are intimidated by the Cardinals.

"I'm telling you, people in New England don't even know who your team is, that's why they're afraid," said Joe Amorosino.

Anne: "Why don't they know who we are?"

"Because you're in the National League. People in New England live in their own bubble, which is the Red Sox, the Yankees, the Detroit Tigers, Tampa, who they played. They haven't been watching. They don't know who Adam Wainwright is, they don't even know who he is," said Amorosino.

Hopefully that lack of knowledge benefits Cards Nation big time. We've been hearing that same thing from a lot of Sox fans. They're unfamiliar with these rookies, they don't know what to expect, so you've gotta love that element of surprise.
