BOSTON(KSDK) - We're a little more than 24 hours from the first game of the World Series.
The Cardinals are in Boston and so is our Anne Allred. One thing that cannot be ignored in this ballpark is the incredible message of Boston Strong. After the marathon bombings just six months ago a jersey with the Boston area code 617 and the words "Boston strong" on it is in the Red Sox dugout during every home and away game.
The idea for the jersey came from players Jonny Gomes and Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Also, "Boston strong" is mowed into the outfield at Fenway, along with a banner in the outfield and the Boston "B" logo as well.
One St. Louis native living in Boston just qualified to run the Boston Marathon next year and support her adopted city after that horrific day in April.
"I think I'm going to be extremely emotional, but that will be my first full marathon so I'm really excited," said Chelsea Fee.
Chelsea israising money for the American Liver Foundation as she prepares for the Boston Marathon next spring.
