(KSDK) – If you're planning to change careers to become a lumberjack or newspaper reporter, then you have an uphill battle.

CareerCast released its 2014 job rankings of the best and worst jobs, with mathematician and university professor topping the list and reporter and lumberjack at the bottom of the barrel.

University professor, statistician, actuary and audiologist are also in the top 10.

The website credits cultural shifts, technology impacts and growing demands as reasons for those positions toward the top. On the other hand, diminishing hiring prospects and other shifts have lead to the worst jobs being at the bottom.

Enlisted military personnel, taxi driver, broadcaster and head cook also fell to the bottom of the list.
