St. Louis County (KSDK) - A two vehicle crash in far west St. Louis County Thursday morning took the life of a Pacific woman who lost control of her pick-up and struck a median.

Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say 55 year old Mary Rallo was westbound on U.S. Route 66 west of Dozier Crossing when she struck a guard rail on the right side of the road.

The impact forced the truck to cross the road and slam into the left hand guardrail. An eastbound tractor trailer unit was unable to avoid the out of control pick-up and crashed into it.

Gallo was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, Michael Middleton, 54 of North Las Vegas, Nevada, was not hurt in the collision.
