ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - A 35-year-old St. Louis man is accused of fraud.

St. Louis County police said prosecutors charged Steven Robert Anderson with unlawful merchandise practice. His bond was set at $20,000 cash-only.

Anderson is accused of fraudulent activity between August 7, 2012 and January 29, 2013. A victim claims he hired and paid Anderson's company $3,500 to replace a roof on his house in unincorporated St. Louis County.

The victim claims Anderson's company never did the work. The victim tried to contact Anderson's business, Griffin Roofing and construction.

Police said Anderson's business had an address in Maryland Heights, but closed in the fall of 2012.

Police said Anderson may be responsible for victimizing more people in Missouri and Illinois.
