BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A suspicious package found outside a medical building prompted a temporaryevacuation Monday morning.
A St. Elizabeth's Hospital spokesperson said the package was found at the Medical Arts Building at 180 S. Third St. around 8:51 a.m. Monday. The building is associated with St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
The hospital activated its Hospital Incident Command System and law enforcement was called in.
Hospital administration ordered all of their staff to evacuate the building as a precaution.
The bomb squad determined the suspicious package to be nothing more than a box of phone books. The hospital building was cleared and reopened by 11:45 a.m.
