GRAFTON, Ill. (KSDK) - The Great River Road is closed in Grafton, Ill. after flood waters have covered the road at the intersection of Route 3.

Mayor Tom Thompson says four businesses have been completely evacuated. Others near the area are taking their stuff out in anticipation of rising water.

As of 6 p.m. Monday the river was at 28 feet, 2 inches. It is expected to crest Thursday at 28 feet, 7 inches.

In the deepest spot, the road has close to 12 inches of water on it.

Mayor Thompson says aside from this flooding, the city is in good shape and utilities have not been affected.
