ALTON, Ill. (KSDK) - There is some good news for drivers. Part of a popular road is open, after being closed by floodwaters.

Around 4 p.m. Monday the Illinois Department of Transportation allowed traffic to return to the great River Road, between Alton and Grafton.

Floodwaters have been slowly receding in the area, but Grafton is as far as you'll get. For now, it's still closed between Grafton and Pere Marquette.
