ST. LOUIS (KSDK) -A 54-year-old man died after being thrownfrom a sport utility vehicle crash in north St. Louis Tuesday morning.

The out of control SUV hit a pole on Page between Belt and Kingshighway, then rolled over.

Accident reconstruction investigators were called to the scene to evaluate how the crash unfolded. The driver, identified as Jian Wang,was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the crash is under investigaton.

Officials said the vehicle was eastbound on Page around 7 a.m. when it veered out of control, slamming into a light pole and a traffic signal at the corner of Page & Belt. The impact flipped the SUV onto its side.

Page was closed in both directions between Belt and Arlington for several hours this morning while the crash was investigated and the wreckage was removed.
