BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged two more people Friday in connection with last week's hit and run accident that ultimately claimed the life of a 9-year-old boy.

According to Lt. Scott Weymouth, a spokesman for the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department,

Seventeen-year-old Kevin Powell is accused of hitting 9-year-old Fabian Teson while he was riding his bike in the 2400 block of Lorraine Drive on July 11. Fabian died at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center on Saturday, July 13.

On Thursday, July 18 Powell was charged with reckless homicide, failure to report an accident involving death, obstruction of justice - destruction of evidence, driving without a valid driver's license, two counts of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He remains jailed on $100,000 bond.

A passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Devan Harris, was charged with two counts of obstruction justice. He remains jailed on $20,000 bond.

The owner of the vehicle involved in the hit and run, 25-year-old Alysa Sherwood, was charged with two counts of obstruction of justice, permitting an unauthorized person to drive and renting a motor vehicle to an unauthorized driver. She was booked on $30,000 bond.
