ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) - A man confronting a school resource officer in the parking lot at Francis Howell High School prompted a district-wide lockdown Tuesday morning.
According to a statement on the Francis Howell School District's Facebook page, the suspicious man was located on campus at 9:20 a.m. and was met by a security officer. The man was married to a woman working at the high school.
The security guard and the man exchanged words and then the suspicious individual left the campus. The guard then initiated a lockdown.
Law enforcement began looking for the individual and requested a SWAT Team show up for assistance. The SWAT Team arrived and conducted a sweep of the middle school. O'Fallon Road was closed while police searched the area.
Eight district buildings were placed on lockdown only as a precaution.
Police found the suspicious individual in the Chesterfield area around 10:30 a.m. and took him into custody without incident.
All the school buildings were taken off lockdown. No student was ever threatened or in any danger.
