MEHLVILLE, Mo. (KSDK) - The Mehlville School Board voted 5-2 Thursday to spend $76,000 this school year to pay for activity buses for transfer students from the unaccredited Riverview Gardens district.
Riverview Gardens must pay for transportation to and from Mehlville schools for the regular day of classes, but there is no requirement to provide bus costs for after-school activities.
One plan under consideration is to have one activities bus serve the two middle schools and the high school in the southern part of the district, and another serve the one high school in the northern part of the district. Mehlville would use its own buses and bus drivers.
A specific start-date for the program has not yet been announced.
