- A teen boy was struck by a vehicle Friday morning in far north St. Louis County.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. in front of Hazelwood Central High School in the 15000 block of New Halls Ferry Road, on the east side of the street at the stop light.

The teenage boy who was struck by a van, was transported to St. Louis Children's Hospital for treatment. Police could not immediately confirm the victim's age, but said he was 15 or 16-years-old.

Investigators say the child had an apparently broken arm and a head injury, but was conscious and alert when he was taken to the hospital.

Police say the driver of the van stopped and is fully cooperating. That person is not expected to be cited.
