DE SOTO, Mo. (KSDK) – There's no word yet as to when charges will be filed after a toddler was severely beaten over the weekend while left in the care of a male relative.
It happened sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. After his parents had left him in the care of an adult male family member, a 2-year-old was taken to Cardinal Glennon Hospital, suffering from extensive bruising, a fractured left arm and internal injuries.
Police were first notified of the incident when they were first contacted by emergency room staff at St. Anthony's Saturday afternoon. The child was later transferred to Cardinal Glennon.
The investigation is ongoing, and an initial report has been presenting to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for consideration.
