ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Authorities confirm that one person is dead and three others are in critical/unstable condition after a fiery crash in north city.

It happened just after 3 a.m. near the intersection of North Kingshighway Boulevard and Lexington Avenue. Police say the vehicle was traveling southbound on north Kingshighway when the driver apparently hit a curb, flipping the vehicle multiple times and hitting a light pole.

Three of the passengers--a 30-year-old man, 25-year-old man and 22-year-old man--were ejected from the vehicle, and one person was trapped inside.

One person, Robert Gilbert, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Kingshighway was closed at Lexington after the accident. As of 7 a.m., northbound Kingshighway had reopened, but southbound remained closed. Authorities say it will be at least 8 a.m. before it reopens.

Two of the people have been listed in critical condition, and the third has been listed as stable, according to St. Louis Police Department.
