DULUTH, Minn. (KSDK) – A sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Duluth might lose one or more limbs after she passed out on her neighbor's porch in subzero temperatures following a night of drinking.

Alyssa Jo Lommel, 19, had allegedly been playing a drinking game with friends Friday night. She was dropped off near her home, and allegedly passed out on her neighbor's porch, where she was found nine hours later by a passer-by.

Overnight temperatures in Duluth dropped to -17 degrees, with a wind chill around -36, according to Gawker.

Lommel was not wearing gloves, and her hands allegedly swelled up to three times their normal size, which caused her skin to split. Doctors are trying to surgically repair what was described as significant damage to her hands and feet, but losing one of her limbs remains a possibility.
