KMOX Radio reports that the latest fire was Thursday at a warehouse on Papin street, kindled by homeless people trying to keep warm. Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson expects more fires, especially if it is a cold winter.

Firefighters rescued two homeless men sleeping inside the burning abandoned building on Thursday. The men told investigators that five other people were staying in the building but left before the fire.

A warehouse on south Broadway burned Sunday in a fire also started by the homeless trying to keep warm. Another warehouse fire earlier this week caused smoke that could be seen for miles, but the cause is not yet known.
