ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis-based sports social media site Lockerdome grew from nothing to 20 million people a month using their site. LockerDome now has a new website up and running and it's not just sports. Dana Dean was at the social networking site's headquarters in downtown St. Louis with CEO Gabe Lozano.

Lozano explains the difference between LockerDome 3.0 and the website they had before.

"So, the one we had before was literally all about sports. And the idea for us was create a platform where our connections, our interests in sports can be handled outside of Facebook… Everybody wanted to use our platform for all the things they like, not just sports, so we started to build around that," he said.

"The really cool thing about LockerDome 3.0 is this idea of collecting anything that we like. On Facebook, you interact only with people that you know. Whereas on LockerDome… find people that think exactly like you."

Lozano shows us how it works.

"We can find an article from your website, I'm going to put this in 'STL Randomness.' Now, I'm going to hang this content… My profile is really a collection of all the different things that I like, including this story." he said.

When asked about people comparing it to Pinterest, Lozano said, "I think there are a lot of comparisons. What you see on social right now is people are going more towards this permanent collection of things that you like."

Just how hard have they worked on the new website?

"We're pretty intense, we're guys that work hard and we work smart. So there are a few guys that slept here for 81 days straight… LockerDorms is what we call them. They are rooms that have beds that go three high," he said.
