JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KSDK) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol is searching for a 6-year-old boy who has been missing since Saturday.
Markell Beasley came to St. Louis for a Christmas celebration from Jefferson City with relatives of Demitrius Beasley, who had helped partially raise the boy with the mother, Michelle Gelling, according to Missouri Highway Patrol.
The relatives released the boy into Demitrius Beasley's custody, and authorities found no trace of a Christmas gathering in St. Louis.
Demitrius Beasley is not the biological father and has no legal rights to the child and had threatened in phone exchanges with the mother to take the boy, according to Missouri Highway Patrol.
Markell Beasley is 51 inches tall and 52 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last wearing an orange hat with a grey and orange coat, blue shirt and blue jeans.
Demitrius Beasley is described as a 40-year-old man who is 5 foot, 11 inches, 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
