ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – We're not saying people are procrastinators, but the last day of the year is also one of the busiest for charitable donations.

From end of the year purging to trying to take advantage of charitable tax breaks, donation bins are overflowing.

Officials at Goodwill say more than 400 people dropped off boxes at the Brentwood location – and expect even more. Across all 42 Mers Goodwill locations, people dropped off a little under 7,000 car loads Monday – that's 64 percent more than on the same day last year.

Goodwill says it's prepared for the influx of people and they have extra staff on-hand.
