EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) – A 33-year-old Alton woman is accused of striking a parked car, fleeing from the scene and getting into an altercation with a deputy while under the influence of alcohol.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office first responded to the incident at 10:37 p.m. Tuesday, when a vehicle owner reported that a gold Dodge Caravan struck their parked car, before driving away.

Deputies later found the Caravan at a nearby residence, and made contact with Tamara Thrash, who was allegedly driving the vehicle. She appeared to be under the influence, and failed field sobriety tests.

As officers informed her that she was under arrest, Thrash pulled away from the deputy and started to fight, before she was placed into handcuffs.

She was taken to Madison County Jail, and served a misdemeanor complaint for resisting a police officer. She was also issued traffic citations for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for no insurance.

She is currently being held on a $200 cash bond.
